Knights of Online Marketers as Resource Speaker for the Rural Impact Sourcing Workshop in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan

Rural Impact Sourcing Tuguegarao CityThe Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), under the digitalPH Program, will conduct a Rural Impact Sourcing Workshop in the Province of Cagayan this August 11, 2017 (Friday) to be held at the City of Tuguegarao. This initiative is simply to educate residents of the province on digitized economic opportunities that can be obtained through home based digital jobs.

What is Rural Impact Sourcing (RIS)?

Rural Impact Sourcing aims to focus on providing meaningful ICT-enabled jobs, services, and other related opportunities in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas. Mostly, rural areas of the socio-economically are high in population but low employment due to lack of investors. Evan Tan once said that “traditional employment will no longer be the norm and it will be replaced by contingent workers such as freelancers and part-time workers. The long-term trend of hiring contingent workers will continue to accelerate with more than 80 percent of large corporations planning to substantially increase their use of a flexible workforce.”

It is the capital of the province of Cagayan and the regional and institutional center of Cagayan Valley Region. After the Rural Impact Sourcing Workshop held in the Province of Northern Samar last July 21, 2017, the Knights of Online Marketers (KOM) was again invited to be the Resource Speaker for this workshop. As the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), governed and directed by Secretary Atty. Rodolfo Salima, continues to generate more opportunities for Filipinos through their Rural Impact Sourcing Programs, the Knights of Online Marketers (KOM) will continue, as well, to deliver their advocacy-based mission of providing training and developing Filipino workforce of potential IT-BPM talents to ensure constant quality of the services that they can provide to foreign and local clients.
